札幌。狸小路6丁目に昔からあるアソコです。
新倉屋と言えば小樽のイメージですが、札幌新倉屋は、小樽の新倉屋からのれん分けした別会社です。
狸小路の本店と札幌テレビ塔地下に店舗がありますが、喫茶スペースを設けているのは本店の方です。
小樽の新倉屋は1895年創業ですが、札幌新倉屋は1960年。
札幌新倉屋としてもすでに60年以上ですから多くの人に愛され続けているお菓子屋さんですね。
ボクももちろん、札幌に移り住んだ時から知ってはいたのですが、30年住んでいても未だ訪れたことがなく。
今回初めて行きました。
席に座ってふと目をやると、ずいぶん懐かしい型板ガラスの窓があるのに気づき、かなり古い建物？と思い、店員さんに伺うと、創業当時のままの建物とのこと。
実家にもあったこの窓ガラス。
懐かし過ぎて調べてみると、「夜空」という名前の型板ガラスでした。
ちゃんと名前があったんですね。
デザイン自体は昭和初期に流行ったデザインみたいです。
新倉屋の定番、花園だんごをいただきました。
ホントは黒あん、白あん、抹茶、ごま、正油と5種類あるのですが、5本は多すぎるので、あんこ、抹茶、白あんの3本に。
庶民的な味わいのおいしいだんごです。
ブレンドコーヒーはストロングめ。
だんごの甘味なので濃いめの珈琲でいいですね。
平日の夕方でしたが、切れ目なくお客さんはやってくる印象で、昔からあるお店ゆえなのかと思います。
また別の日にはクリームぜんざいをいただきました。
メニューを見ると「元祖」と書いてあったので、どんな内容ですか？と聞くと
「つぶあんのぜんざいに牛皮が2つ乗っていて、その上に、ソフトクリームが”巻かさってるやつです”」
とナイスな北海道弁で解説してくれましたｗ
これはもう試してみるしかないと思い、いただきました。
一言で言うならば、めちゃんこおいしい雪見大福です。
札幌に住んでいる方も、昔から知ってはいるが行ったことない、という方も多いのでは？

Sapporo Niikuraya has been around for over 60 years, so it is a sweets shop that continues to be loved by many people.
Of course, I knew about it when I moved to Sapporo, but I have never been there even though I have lived there for 30 years.
Went for the first time this time.
When I sat down and looked up, I noticed that there was a very nostalgic figured glass window, and it was a pretty old building? When I asked the store clerk, I was told that the building was the same as when it was founded.
This window glass was also in my parent s ‘ house.
It was too nostalgic, so I looked it up, and it was a patterned glass named “Yozora”.
It had a proper name.
The design itself seems to be a popular design in the early Showa era.
I had Hanazono dumplings, a staple of Niikuraya.
Actually, there are 5 types: black bean paste, white bean paste, matcha, sesame, and soy sauce, but 5 are too many, so I ended up with 3, bean paste, matcha, and white bean paste.
It is a delicious dumpling with a common taste.
Blended coffee is strong.
It’s the sweetness of the dumpling, so it’s good to have a strong coffee.
It was a weekday evening, but I got the impression that customers were coming in without a break.
On another day, I had cream zenzai.
When I looked at the menu, it was written as “Original”, so what is the content? when I hear
“The tsubuan zenzai has two pieces of cowhide on top, and soft serve ice cream is wrapped around it.”

I thought I had no choice but to try this, so I received it.
In a nutshell, it’s delicious Yukimi Daifuku.
There are probably many people who live in Sapporo who have known about it for a long time but have never been there.
