#554 nicoドーナツ湯布院本店 (Yufuin)

由布院に来た。2020年の冬以来の二度目。
小さな夢を叶えるためにやってきた。
旅の演出にと、月夜の花見となるタイミングを狙ったにも関わらず、春先の由布院は生憎の冷たい雨に見舞われ、花も月もなく。

「nicoドーナツ」の看板が目に止まる。

利用したことはなかったけど、札幌でも見かけたnicoドーナツ。
由布院にもあるんだ。
でもなんで由布院に？

不思議に想い検索してみると、実は、由布院生まれのドーナツ屋さんだった。

由布院生まれ。大豆ペーストや雑穀パウダーで作った、体に優しいシンプルなドーナツ。
油っこくなくもちもちとした触感で、毎日食べても飽きのこないおいしさ。
サイトではこんな風に紹介されていた。

札幌ではちょくちょく見かけるけど行ったことはなく。
しかもこの時すでに、札幌店は閉店していた。
由布院で出自を知ったのも何かのご縁でしょうと、入ってみることに。

DIYでリノベーションしたような小さな店舗。
剥げ落ちた白のペンキが素朴さを感じさせる。
こぢんまりとした店内。
ドーナツはシンプルなものと、お花のついたかわいいのと2つを注文。
ブリキのトレイに乗せてくれるのもかわいらしくていいね。
素材が違うので、味わいも普通のドーナツと比べるとずいぶん違う。
確かに、油が少ない印象。あっさり。
美味しいね。

ドーナツとコーヒーでひとまず落ち着く。
だけども問題は今日の雨。いや、傘はあるけどもさ。
せっかくの由布院なのに、ついてないな。
とは言えよくあることさ。いつだって思い通りになどいかない。
約束までまだ時間がある。

亀の井別荘で落ち合おう。
相応に年を重ねて大人になったボクらは、ただ話すために遠い所に集まるのだ。

そんなことをぶつぶつ心で唱えながらnicoドーナツを後にした。

The sign of “nico donut” catches my eye.

I’ve never used it, but I saw a nico donut in Sapporo.
It’s also in Yufuin.
But why in Yufuin?

Mysteriously, when I searched for it, it was actually a donut shop born in Yufuin.

Born in Yufuin. A simple donut that is kind to the body and made from soybean paste and millet powder.
It’s not greasy and has a chewy texture, and it’s delicious that you won’t get tired of eating it every day.
It was introduced on the site like this.

I often see it in Sapporo, but I have never been there.
Moreover, the Sapporo store was already closed at this time.
I decided to go in because I knew the origin at Yufuin.

A small store that looks like a DIY renovation.
The white paint that has peeled off makes you feel simple.
A small store interior.
I ordered two donuts, a simple one and a cute one with flowers.
It’s nice to put it on the tin tray.
Because the ingredients are different, the taste is also quite different compared to ordinary donuts.
Certainly, the impression that there is little oil. Easy.
it is delicious.

Calm down with donuts and coffee.
But the problem is today’s rain. No, I have an umbrella, though.
Even though it’s Yufuin, it doesn’t come with it.
That’s a common thing, though. It doesn’t always go as expected.
I still have time to make an appointment.
