代々米農家だったが、米の個人販売を始めたことで、直接農場に訪れるようになったお客さまを楽しませようと、たんぼのあぜ道にルピナスを植え始めたのがガーデンのきっかけ。
上野ファームの娘でガーデナーの上野砂由紀さんが、イギリス留学から帰国後の2001年から本格的な庭作りを始めたとのこと。
2008年には納屋を改造して、ナヤカフェをオープンさせるなど現在の上野ファームの形になった。
今回は、ナヤカフェの紹介なのですが、上野ファームのガーデンとセットだからこそ意味のあるカフェかと思います。
伺ったのは9月上旬。旭川近辺はすでに秋の気配。
凛とした寂寞とでもいうべき曇り空。
少し、花の季節は終わりつつあるのかな？と思う頃でしたが、とにかくガーデンがステキ。
よくこれだけの庭を作ったなぁと感心します。
かつて屯田兵の射的訓練場だった的射山という小さな山までも庭に抱えるなど、本州のガーデンに行ったことはないので少し分かりませんが、北海道ならではの広大な敷地の庭なのかなと思います。

冬期間は休業となってしまいますが、暖かい季節の休日はのんびり庭を楽しみながら、カフェでゆっくりしたいですね。
ガーデンカフェと言えば、岩見沢の和徳石庵や、斜里の丘cafeも素晴らしいです。
道外の方からすると、かなりの遠出となりますが、北海道を回る際、ガーデンカフェに目を向けて見るのも楽しいですよ。
Ueno Farm has been a rice farmer for generations. When Ueno Farm started selling rice over-the-counter, customers came to visit the farm directly. He started planting lupines on the paddy field to entertain customers, which was the reason for creating a garden.
Sayuki Ueno, the daughter of Ueno Farm and a gardener, started full-scale gardening in 2001 after returning from studying in England.
In 2008, the barn was remodeled and the Naya Cafe was opened, giving it the shape of the current Ueno Farm.
This time, I would like to introduce Naya Cafe, but it is a meaningful cafe because it is a set with the garden of Ueno Farm.
I visited in early September. The area around Asahikawa is already showing signs of autumn.
A cloudy sky that can be called a dignified loneliness.
Is the flower season coming to an end? It was around the time I thought, but anyway, the garden is wonderful.
I’m impressed that I often made such a garden.
Ueno Farm also includes a small mountain called Tondenhei, which was once a shooting training ground for Tondenhei. I’ve never been to a garden in Honshu, so I don’t know how big the garden in Honshu is, but I think the size of the garden at Ueno Farm is a vast site unique to Hokkaido.

It will be closed during the winter, but on warm holidays, I would like to relax at the cafe while enjoying the garden.
Speaking of garden cafes, Watokusekian in Iwamizawa and Oka cafe in Shari are also wonderful.
From the outside of Hokkaido, it’s quite a long trip, but when you go around Hokkaido, it’s fun to look at the garden cafe.
