九州最後の目的地、湯布院に来た。
いつの頃からか憧れていた所。
別府から山を超えると、目の前に開ける山里、温泉郷。
まさに隠れ家、秘境。
茶房天井桟敷
写真で見ていた限りだけど「絶対いいカフェ」と思い、今回の旅の目的の1つにしていた。
名前からは「寺山修司」しか連想できない。
湯布院を代表する高級旅館、湯布院御三家のひとつ、亀の井別荘の中にあるカフェだ。
夜はBAR山猫と名前を変え、バー営業をしている。
名前からは「山猫は眠らない」しか連想できない。
本当はカフェ時間のうちに伺う予定だったのだが、到着した日はイベントか何かでカフェに到着した時間が一旦閉店の時間となっており入れず。
しょうがないので湯布院の街を散策。
標高450m。12月の由布院盆地は身体に凍み込むような寒さだが風はなく、キリっとした雰囲気。
行き交う観光客も温泉街の雰囲気に合わせるかのようにしっとりとした大人の雰囲気を醸し出している。
静かだ。騒がしくない。
温泉に浸かりながらここ数年の出来事をひとしきり思い出しつつ、これからのことを考えた。
夜になって、BAR山猫に伺う。
建物は江戸末期の造り酒屋の建物を移築したもの。
めーちゃめちゃシックでいい感じ。
バー時間帯なので、ひとまずシングルモルトで独りの時間を満喫。
伺うと珈琲も出してくれるとのことで、その後、席も変えさせてもらいゆっくり珈琲をいただく。
とても楽しい時間を過ごさせていただきました。
店内奥に、シンボリックな円卓があるのだが、それがまたステキ過ぎて。
いつかここで、気心知れた方々と人生の反省会をしながらも、あぁでもないこうでもないと人性について話ができればと思いました。
旅も半分終了。
次回からは四国編になります。

The place I’ve been longing for.
When I crossed the mountain from Beppu, there was a mountain village and a hot spring village in front of me.
It’s a hideaway, an unexplored region.
TENJO SAJIKI.
As far as I saw in the photo, I thought it was an “absolutely good cafe” and made it one of the purposes of this trip.
The name can only be associated with “Shuji Terayama”.
It is a cafe in Kamenoi Besso, one of the three Yufuin families, a luxury inn that represents Yufuin.
At night, the name is changed to BAR YAMANEKO.
The name can only be associated with “Sniper”.
Actually, I was planning to visit during the cafe time, but on the day I arrived, the time I arrived at the cafe due to an event or something was once closed, so I couldn’t enter.
There is no help for it, so I took a walk around the town of Yufuin.
Altitude 450m. The Yufuin Basin in December is cold and freezing, but there is no wind and the atmosphere is crisp.
The tourists who come and go also create a moist and mature atmosphere as if to match the atmosphere of the hot spring town.
It’s quiet. Not noisy.
While soaking in the hot springs, I remembered the events of the past few years and thought about the future.
At night, I will visit the BAR YAMANEKO.
The building is a relocation of a sake brewery building in the late Edo period.
It’s really chic and nice.
It’s bar time, so I enjoyed my time alone with a single malt.
When I asked him, he said he would serve coffee, and after that, I changed my seat and had coffee slowly.
I had a very good time.
There is a symbolic round table in the back of the store, but it’s too nice.
One day, I would like to have a life reflection meeting with people who are familiar with me, but I would like to talk about humanity.
Half of the trip is over.
