珈琲道ぢろばた (Chichibu)

1974年オープン。自分と同級生。この場所で半世紀弱。
秩父の街並みに溶け込むように佇む純喫茶。

BGMはない。
柱時計の振り子の音。それだけで十分。
雑然とした店内。長いあいだやってきたことを物語る。

「いつも来ていた奴も、ひとりまたひとり、他界していってね。
でもここにいるとなんだか、そいつら今もいつもの席にいるようにも感じるんですよ。。。」

70を過ぎた老マスターはかつての賑わいを懐かしみながら
終焉の時を安らかに待つような柔和な微笑と共に語ってくれました。

多くの人がここでそれぞれの時間を過ごした愛着の気持ちが
初めてきた自分にも伝わるような安心感を感じました。

静かに静かに。
老マスターの淹れる珈琲はとても美味しかったです。

秩父で。こんな純喫茶に出会えるだなんて。
当てもなく訪れた街で出会う喫茶店やカフェの醍醐味はこういう所にあると思います。

もう一度、老マスターに会えるかしら。
