ティーショップ夕日 (Hakodate)

明治18年（1885年）
日本初の常設の消毒所として建てられ（函館消毒所）、明治29年（1896年）には函館検疫所と改称され、日本の主要港における防疫機能を担っていました。
戦後は樺太方面からの引揚者の検疫や医療援護も行っていたとのこと。
事務所として残っていた部分が「ティーショップ夕日」として運営されているというカフェです。
外国人墓地の傍。海を見下ろす立地で窓から眺める景色はステキです。

函館につき珈琲を先に連想しましたが、なんと日本茶のカフェ。
窓際の席でゆっくり海を眺めながら茶を飲む。
お茶を飲んだ後の茶葉は、ポン酢・ゆず胡椒・鰹節で味付けして食べていただくという計らい。
新鮮な体験。
とてもステキな所でした。

In 1885,
The first permanent disinfecting station named Hakodate disinfecting station has built in Japan.
In 1896, the name was changed to Hakodate quarantine station, and it had been function of major ports in Japan.
After the war, they quarantine　the repatriates from Karahuto and medical support.
The cafe has been using part of the building.and the name is “Tea shop Yuhi”
Beside Foreign cemeteries, you can overlook ocean view through the window.

I guessed that the cafe mainly serve coffee, but it’s Japanese tea cafe.
Beside the window, you can drink the tea and enjoy the ocean view.
After drank tea, I had tea-leaf with ponzu vinegar, Yuzu citrus pepper, or dried‐bonito shavings.
It was freash experience.
Beautiful place.
